Hi jamie, welcome to Martial Edge.
First of all, have you asked your instructor about this, as that should be your first port of call.
On one hand, it sounds like a technique issue, but it could also be the type of pad being used, or the way it is being held.
Lower arm strength exercises will help to stabilise the wrist.
Keep us posted.

Hi JM,

Nice one for getting stuck into the forums!

Im a TKD practioner so my experience with hand strikes is not as good as some of the guys on here...

However, I used to have the same problem when doing pad work... id try and hit the thing so hard it would feel as if I was damaging my wrist. Is that what your experiencing?

As I obviously cant see what your doing when you hit the pad id have a word with your instructor and ask him to watch when you do hit it and so he will be able to give you a few tips on where you are going wrong/what you need to improve etc.

Guys?

Hi Jamie

Welcome im also new can i also suggest hand wraps in addition to correct technique as a newbie. Make sure you wrap them correctly to support your wrists whilst their strength is developing ( not like boxercise folks do it lol)
