new to martial arts and forums. 4 Months, 1 Week ago
Hello all.

I am new to forums and have recently started to learn ninjitsu. After a few months I realise there is a lifetime of skills to learn. My cousin is also learning it, so we practice outside the classes which is helpful to me.

I have never been athletic, usually spending free time playing in a 'garage band'. Now I divide my time mainly between MA and the band.

Oh, can someone tell me what 'poke' is please!!

Hiya.

Yeah, Martial Arts....you just opened the biggest box in the toy store bud.

Your band on myspace?
You can catch mine here; http://www.myspace.com/thelonghorns07

Sorry, I posted this as the link by mistake earlier; http://www.itsawonderfulinternet.com/

Oh, and poking is just a bit of fun really, but sometimes you can use it to attract someone's attention if you've sent them a message, or replied to a post of theirs.

Good luck on your journey, I hope that our paths cross, and we may travel together for a time!

Hey,

I did ninjutsu for a long while but am giving up because of the massive amount of dedication and time which recently i have not been able to give. (damn you exams! *shakes fist*). I find that is the type of MA which you dedicate your life to.

Thanks for your reply mule.

Me and most of my mates are fairly new to the internet, so we are not accessable yet! Most of the stuff we play is more aggresive and in your face, but we have a couple of guitar based ballads. Your bands music?.....well, it made me happy, made me smile. Thats what its all about I think.

The first thing I did was poke someone to see what happened, then thought it might upset them, so thanks for explaining.

Fairly new to MA but already I have heard lots of arguements of "my MA is better than yours!"

So I look forward to chatting with like minded people about the different martial arts., some of which are new to me.

Hi,

I thought it would be great to learn to be a ninja, then after being thrown around like a two year old and experiencing pain, my thinking changed!

I realise there is so much to learn so try to practice every day for a couple of hours.

I wish you well with your exams.

Thanks A lot,

Yeah i found the rag doll treatment quite hard as well. Mainly because my teacher was very aggressive because he was taught using full force.

I am starting animal style kung fu on Monday so i am going to try my best to fit in a little bit of practice every day.

Re:new to martial arts and forums. 4 Months ago
hi to one and all

i have been doing various MA's now for some years ( not saying how many gives the age away) due to professional commitments my MA study has been very much a case of dabbling in different systems wherever i could whenever i could but in the last few years have been able to concentrate of JKA Shotokan karate and ju jitsu.

however this whole social networking site and forum stuff is a totally new concept for me so please bear with an old duffer.

regards all the bull**** about which art is the best i have this answer.

the best at what?

also bear in mind this

its not the system that fights its the fighter, it all boils down to who is the top dog at any given time, afterall theres always somebody biger harder stronger who could come along and upset an applecart

so talk of this art is better than that is all superfluuos and meaningless just get on and enjoy what you do.

ninjutsu is as worthy as any arts to study so good luck.

coops
