support beginners 6 Months, 2 Weeks ago
hi all beginners, I am 39 and started TKD over 2 years ago. I lost weight and found confidence to improve ares in my life not directly linked to martial arts. Always wanted to become a martial artist and so glad I took the step. just wanted to offer support to anyone out there who feels to old for martial arts training or out of shape, you will want to quit at times but I would like to share with you a philosophy that ensured I have got to red stripe so far. The founder of Tai Chi (forgoten name !!) said; "do not be conscerned with slow progress, only be afraid of standing still." When you feel like its to hard or whats the point, take stock its a fantastic community to be involved in

Hi Tony,
remember, old martial artists never die, they just lose their chi balls.

As you travel to the mountain, there may be people ahead of you. You may pass some of these people on the way, and some of them may pass you. You are all going to the same place, so it is as well to be civil to each other on the journey!

Good luck on your journey, I hope that our paths cross, and we may travel together for a time!

Best of luck with it mate, hopefully you will get as much from it as we all do.

I know starting late can be daunting. I'm nearly 30, and have just started a new martial art (BJJ) which whilst it's killing me - i'm loving every second of it!!

Good to know there’s no brittle bones! But if there is I hear dark chocolate is good for it!

Good luck with the training Tony. And remember some times hitting your sparring partner really hard is good for the soul!

Hi Tony. All I can say is it is good you are realizing something you always wanted to do. There are many out there who would like to do martial arts, but will always tell themselves that they aren't capable for one reason or another. Welcome to Martial Edge.
