Bagua - Fighting for Spaghetti people 6 Months, 2 Weeks ago
Hi all,
For the last month I've been studying Cheng style Bagua from Alex Kozma, and I have to say, it is the most complex, bendy, compressy, expanded, twisty martial art out there.
So far, I've been given the following to practice:
Dragon Serves Teacups (single & double handed) Single Change Palm 8 Mother Palms (only Heaven & Earth at the moment; both static and whilst walking the circle.) 1st of the 64 hands
I'll hopefully be uploading some videos at some point.

I've just started Bagua, and it is very, very physically demanding in the way of balance and flexibility. But looks like wonderful stuff, I'll add moe once I've been to a few more sessions.

Sifu Starr spent a lot of time explaining to me the influences of Yiliquan, and I think Bagua's in there somewhere - its been a while, I could be so very, VERY wrong on that. so by practising Yili, you're pretty much doing it! I hear Yili training is pretty tough.

Yes and yes. Bagua is one of the things practiced in Yili. I think Bagua is really cool, but is one of those things that I'm not wired for, heh. I like Xingyi a lot more. It is pretty straight forward and to the point.

Yes, I've practiced Bagua for several decades. It's probably the most misunderstood of the Chinese martial arts...so let me know if I can be of any help at all.

I've just started Ba Gua, (you've no idea how hard it is to find a good instructor) and i'm loving it, butits very demanding on our balance and your flexibility, especially around the spine twisting.
But i love it and can't wait to progress further.
