The actual discussion point he raised was to ask fellow ninjutsu practitioners their thoughts on the style. The only responses I have seen have not answered his question, but asked another, and then critisised him for not raising a valid point. If you don't practise ninjutsu, dont answer the topic?

Though I do agree that the topics that are being started are a little...less eloquent and thoughtful than those previously seen in the site's early days.
Feel free to contribute in a productive manner.

As you travel to the mountain, there may be people ahead of you. You may pass some of these people on the way, and some of them may pass you. You are all going to the same place, so it is as well to be civil to each other on the journey!
Good luck on your journey, I hope that our paths cross, and we may travel together for a time!

secondly, instead of us lightening up maybe you need to consider that you are talking to mostly adults who have a lot of experience in the martial arts. next time you want to start a thread try to do so by actually opening up with some thoughts. don't just say i wanna talk about something and then not actually bring something intelligent to the table.
I think this is a harsh response (as well as a couple of others on here).
Please bear in mind that, although a number of us are adults and contributing to the forums, I doubt it's "mostly adults" on the site. Secondly, it's not necessarily the case that we have "a lot of experience" in the martial arts. This site is for enthusiasts as well as active participants.
As far as I can see, Redsnow is simply enthusiastic about his subject and wanted to talk to other ninjitsu practitioners. When I was at school, many centuries ago, ninjas *were* the *coolest.* I don't see what the problem is.
I was surprised that such negative responses should come from adults, particularly those who teach. If there is nothing to contribute to this topic (other than patronising, chiding remarks) why respond?
And as for "bringing something intelligent to the table," there's plenty on here I don't consider to be particularly intelligent, but it doesn't mean it's not fun!

thank you
these guys are harsh,
i thought that the many years of martial arts experience that they are boasting about should of taught them to be kind and caring for others,

Lardy,
My sentiments exactly, it's good to see that the forums are not completely void of reason and tolerance these days.
As for dmccarthy, you are a student of Phillip Starr, I expected something a little more from you in this.
Redsnow, keep doing what you're doing on the forums, your topics will attract likeminded enthusiastic young people and this is how martial art brings us together.
My input on this topic is over, as is my time on these so called "experienced practitioners."

Ok ok! Noone was being rude to Redsnow,or intended to be. If you visit forums regularly you just become a little world weary of the whole "yeah I do it cause its cool" type thing. Yes its good that he is enthusiastic, you just get a lot of these things and it can get a little tiresome.
Fair enough starting a thread saying a style is cool may be naive to an experience martial artist, but all the guy was saying was that he had an interest in ninjitsu and didn't deserve to be flamed down like that with suggestions that his input wasn't intelligent.
This is not what the Martial Edge community is all about guys!...we should be encouraging this sort of interest and welcoming input with open arms, not shooting people down and making them feel stupid.
Anyhow, onwards and upwards... does anyone have any hands on experience with ninjitsu?...
