I thought I would share my tournament experience in Fukuoka last November with my account, videos etc. My technique has since improved a lot and recently entered a tournament in Saga Prefecture for all styles not just Wado Ryu.

I performed the kata pinan shodan with another guy but my timing was a little fast and unfortunately lost in the first round. Tournament kata is not my strong suit. (also looking back, my kata wasnt very good )

I had something of a crushing victory in round 1, ending the match 7-0 in my favor. I was really happy with my 3 point head kick 47 seconds in.

This match was a little harder. I had a ver short rest and was straight back into the fray. There was a lot of excessive contact going on but it ended in a 3-1 victory to me.

I seemed to use a lot of Tae Kwon Do style moves in this match with a lot of reliance on push kicks and ring outs. This was the final match and ended 4-1 in my favor. Victory for the Koga Dojo.

This was a good tournament with a good result for myself however looking back on it, I know that I have gotten a lot better since then. I have lost quite a lot of weight since this time and I look forward to putting up my other Saga Tournament videos up so you can see the contrast in my technique.
