I blocked a roundhouse kick with my arm, but managed to poke myself in the eye with my thumb. I ended up with a black eye. This wouldn't have been too bad, but my other other eye was also bruised from where one of my mates hook kicked me in a Bill Wallace seminar; he was meant to tap me in the shoulder, but was a bit off target. So I ended up looking like a panda.

Teaching myself jumping 360 roundhouses at the back of a quite kickboxing class on day, got it wrong and barrel rolled between the only 2 students in the class and ended up at the feet of the instructor.
Or, on a grading when my instructor brought out the brand new breaking horse he had spent 3 days lovingly crafting at home. Sticks the board up for me to break which i did and then my instructor looking at the horse trying to work out where the sawdust was coming from. When he plced the next board on the horse just collapsed!

I once learned the hard way in my first club to be careful when doing leg raises. This was before my flexibility was as developed as it is now. I started doing my leg raises and somehow I managed to kind of curl my body up (in an attempt to get more height somehow), but in doing so I brought my nose on a collision course with my knee. This caused me to immediately fall (so dazed I cant even remember the direction I fell) and lie on the ground for a while with blood pouring out of my face.

Remembered another the other day. It was when i was only a green belt and was sparring one of the instructors. Being a cocky little martial artist of around 9 months practice i thought i would try and kick the instructor with my new axe kick. (learnt 3 days previous) And show him that he may be a few inches taller than me but i could still land one on him.
The kick went up and landed square on his shoulder. Fantastic! He didn't seem fazed. So i then mad ethe mistake of trying to axe kick him with me other leg whilst the first was still on his shoulder came crashing down to earth tore my hamstring nearly passed out from the pain, spent 6 weeks off training and learnt that all important beginners lesson if your standing on that leg don,t kick with it.

One moment for me was the first MA display I was involved in a few years back. I was really excited as the club that was holding the display was one I just moved to from a different area (same organisation diff dojo). Anyway the night before I washed my Gi to make sure I was looking clean for the big day!!
Now I am sensible when it comes to washing whites and I checked the drum of the washing machine for rougue socks etc.

Much to my horror when I took the Gi out the machine it had turned a funny washed out bluey gray colour!!

I had to go to this display with an off coloured Gi with a new club... suffice to say I was a little mortified but not many people really commented on it.

Though one comment made to a friend of mine who also trains who's local club was at this paricular leisure center pointed me out and said 'Thats my mate' to a fellow MA in his club (who was a dan grade) his responce was ' The one in the funny coloured Gi?'

I got it on video aswell!! lol

I did a corker tonight.

When I was sparring this bloke much taller than me, I caught him with a glorious axe kick which unfortunately whipped up my belt and whacked me in the eye.

I am really only a danger to myself!
