As you travel to the mountain, there may be people ahead of you. You may pass some of these people on the way, and some of them may pass you. You are all going to the same place, so it is as well to be civil to each other on the journey!

Good luck on your journey, I hope that our paths cross, and we may travel together for a time!

I watched it and one of the fathers seem a bit extreme, kept shouting and critising his son. Looked like a typical parent trying to live their life through their kid.

Well it wasnt as sensationalised as I thought it was going to be. To be completely honest the only thing that concerned me was the fight in Thailand where they have zero pads on and head shots.
The majority of the kids were so padded up and so young that the shots weren't going to damage them. I thought it was good to see focussed kids, yes the parents were pushy, but go down to any football match at the weekend or horse competition and you will find exactly the same kind of thing.
My nephew who is 8 does karate and it has calmed him down so much and given him so much more confidence and strength.

They weren't fighting "cage rules" they were still fighting under mt style rules, the fight just happened to be in a cage.

It was the little girl that concerned me.
On one hand, tha father seemed to be loving and supporting, but dissapointed when she wanted to go back to being what she is......A little girl!
Should we really be forcing kids to be agressive.

I remember being accosted after teaching a Kung fu class, by a father who thought his kid should be a "Black Belt by now" with all of two years (infrequent) practice, and asked him "Who wanted the Black Belt, him or his kid?"

I make a distinction, in that this isn't just competitive, it's agressive.

Which in some ways is safer for kids, because nobody can fall out, but the howls of the crowd remind me of dog fights.
Don't approve.
Sorry.

I see where you are coming from, but I don't think all parents who have kids doing ma's are like that. By the age of 10 I had a ridiculous number of injuries from horse riding .

I was a bit worried about the little boy who won that final fight as he did seem quite aggressive, Thai's parents were more grounded and he seemed less aggressive than the other little boy.

I also see what you mean about the little girl, she had lost interest and I hope her Dad leaves her be for a bit. Every little girl (even tom boys like me) need to dress up as princesses and wear glitter while dancing around the house every once in a while
