Ok, I've got the British Championships on Sunday and I need an enthusiasm injection (or a kick up the arse).

I think I've got battle fatigue!

Can someone please remind me why I'm doing this??

watch a film like brave heart or 300 before you go, that'll help

id be joining you at the comp but i didnt get my entry in on time!

What I think it is lesley is all the effort of your blackbelt training, changing jobs, moving to leeds etc.

And a full competition calender.

Thanks for the motivational tips.

I think a good dose of Russell Crow in Gladiator and a bit of classic Brucie should be just the ticket.

Must get into this green tea stuff, perhaps a replacement for the copious amounts of Chardonay I like to drink?

Green Tea is also the title of a very good ghost story by Sheridan Le Fanu, fact fans (and totally unrelated to martial arts!).

do they check for drugs at theese comps?

if not, a good healthy dose of performance enhancers might do the trick

Personally my favourite before a fight is to stick Prodigy or Rage against the Machine on. May I suggest the splendid "smack my b***h up" or "their law". Be careful it doesnt drive you over the edge though!

erm yeah ok beautiful mind was a really artistic and deep film, but the twist from what appeared to be cold war thriller to 'hes mental' was a little too much for me to handle so yeah im not taking that into account

Regarding Russell Crowe, I was of course thinking of Gladiator and a spot of mild tiger-wrestling rather than a deep and touching film about maths and schizophrenia. Although I will probably be crouched in a corner dribbling by the end of sparring on Sunday!!

Good tip on the Prodigy music though.
