I thinks its an excellent idea and anyone that has taken their own time to create such a thing shows innitiative and a passion for what they do.

The only negative I can say is this, the gadget doesnt really emulate an apponent or how one would move etc. But, if its designed solely to improve speed and accuracy then its a good thing.

Brendan, to me it's just another "thing".

My main gripe with it, is that an opponent is not going to respond to being hit in the same way as the balls are. The balls bounce off and away with the lightest of touches. An opponent is just going to plow through.

It's an ok idea - I just don't think it's the "big bad" that you are trying to make it out to be.

I know what you mean ,maybe i am dramitising it a bit,but I was wowed by what it done to my fighting, but to be honest Ihave a fairly natural speed, and my brother did as well (speed they say is genetic),so this worked parhaps, a bit more for me but I can honestly say in my heart, this type of training in my opinion is a must have for people who want to be,what? i dunno-- take on anybody in a sparring session down the club?, but maybe again its the speed thing i have.

So what's the deal?

Is it something you made for yourself, or is it something you're trying to market?

What does it cost?

Are there options, like the 'heavier balled' version on the clip?

Yeah we have seen the 'Home made' version.....

Do we have a patent pending and finished product?

Sorry, it just looks like you're just swinging randomly or patting the balls so I don't get how this will help with martial arts training as it doesn't help with technique, distancing or footwork.

I'd suggest that working on a heavy bag would be more benefit or getting a good padholder to put you through your paces.

Good luck in the future with developing it, even though I don't really get it.

when Buster Douglas knocked out Mike Tyson in mikes peak,in the after fight interview ,while he was till sweating, buster said nothing about his own power, nothing about his technique ,bag work ,pad work ,belts, pressure points,
he said "what people don.t know about me is that I am fast- very fast!.that was solution to the most astounding boxer ever on the planet (Tyson), thats the key,the mostly often neglected key, to any fight training,

Sorry, am I missing something here? Does Buster Douglas endorse your product? Did he practise with balls on rubberbands before his fight with Tyson?

Of course speed, whether perceived (timing) or real, is important in sparring, but I think that training intelligently with focus mitts is far better than swinging and patting at balls on string.

I'd also respectfully and totally disagree with your assessment of Mike Tyson place in boxing history.

i never said he endorsed,i never even mentions the balls,i was just re-enforcing what i believed was a neglected factor in fight training, alot of the guys are a bit slow holding the pads and that swing over the top is a bit predictable, people complain about the balls being light but there is a heavy version as well, balls filled with water,I know its not full training just with the light balls. you need to give it a serious go training on the balls and then you will find out.you never know until you try
