"Train hard, fight easy."

"Carpe Dium" (sorry if I've got the spelling wrong on that one!)

I have a great mental saying for myself when sitting watching TV/drinking beer etc seem just so much better than going for a Run/Bike.

"Get your F*cking trainers on and get out the F*cking door you fat piece of sh*t"

Tends to work quite well. Once you're out the door you're fine

My philosophy at the moment is to do something on a daily basis that scares you. :)

Said to me by my brother in law years ago.

Don't worry and dwell too long when making decisions. There is rarely any such thing as the wrong decision, there may be the best decision or worst decision but you can usually alter track later if the decision was poor.

Not sure what motivational management book he was reading at the time!!

OK I just remembered one about pacing yourself.

A young bull and an old bull on top of a hill looking down on a herd of cows. The young bull says "I've an idea why don't we run down this hill and mate with one of those cows" the old bull says "I've a better idea, why don't we walk down this hill and mate with all of them"

Persistence!

Nothing in the world can take the place of persistence.

Talent will not; nothing is more common than unsuccesful men with talent.

Genius will not; unrewarded genius is almost a proverb.

Education will not; the world is full of educated derelicts.

Persistence and determination alone are omnipotent.

and..

Train Hard, Fight Easy

Re:The inspiration and motivation thread 5 Months, 3 Weeks ago
I really like this, i have a copy on the wall of my office and i often read it to inspire me when i have difficult decisions to make.

Way of the Warrior

Sometimes it seems as if a warrior exists only to fight. But being a warrior is about finding the truth, and you don’t have to throw a punch to do that. A warrior is a person, who finds the Way and follows the Way; who exhibits courage in the face of danger and fear, whether the courage is emotional or physical. A warrior can be a man, woman, child, young or old, sprouting muscles or boasting none at all.

Being a warrior is a way of living. It’s about being strong and determined in the pursuit of truth. It’s about living with integrity even when you’re tempted to lie or cheat.

A warrior faces each day with resolve, and optimism, even if the warrior knows it’s going to be a dreadful day. Warriors don’t moan and whine and complain about the way things are or the way things should be. They do what they can to make things better. They know life isn’t perfect, but that it’s full of joy anyway. They are guided in their life by their search for truth, which they seek by following the Way.

A warrior is not immune to fear. He feels fear. He just does not allow it to touch his or effect what he does. He may have moments of darkness-pessimism, unhappiness, doubt-but he does not allow these to rule his life. He affirms life instead of falling into despair.

Warriors incorporate the Way into their daily lives by keeping themselves open to growing, by being willing to undergo enlightening experiences and by taking risks.

Live like a warrior and you will triumph in the end.
