Our documentary film Needle Through Brick about traditional Chinese kung fu in Southeast Asia is currently showing for free as part of the Seattle International Film festival. Shot in high definition, we tried our best to be true to the spirit of the arts, and show the beauty, speed and power of traditional kung fu without the gimmicks that characterize most martial arts films and documentaries. The film features numerous styles of traditional kung fu from masters within the Chinese communities in Malaysian Borneo. It is a story about the struggle of traditional fighting arts to survive in Asia today.
Needle Through Brick is currently one of ten finalists competing in an on-line competition as part of the Seattle International film festival. You need to register to see it and vote if you like it (which is done by making the five stars red!). The winning film gets screened at the final night of the Seattle Film Festival, which would be amazing for a martial arts documentary! We want to spread the word as far as possible to martial arts communities around the world, as we made the film for people whom appreciate traditional fighting arts.
