My favorite kata is uit takes a lot up strength and something else.

I really like Sanchin also, I havent got to a level for Seisan yet but we have a new kata called ichigenteki which combines key parts of 4 kata into one which is taught from when you join in sections to learn the quality and understand the kata better. Its real nice and I have grown fond of it!

Less is more and more is less kinda thing..

I love kata, so this is like choosing a favorite ice cream for me. I really enjoy Bassai Dai.

Well, since you specified karate (only about 1/3 of my practice), I like the Pinan/Heian (series made from stringing forms 1-4 together to make one kata). We do both a traditional version and an innovative version.

Now if we opened it up beyond karate...
