get from zero to hero in 1 month 1 Year, 1 Month ago
6th form and the near by transport cafe/daves bakeries/ the bucher that do those meat n potatoe pies (yum) that i go to for lunch as well as more work to do have made me very unfit in a period no longer than a month, i need to get back into shape and beyond within a month; for i may be entering an upcoming local competition.
this will be my premier competition and i want to go in it with the benefit of training that may outwieght my lack of competition experience. I need advise on how to go about getting great results in 1 month but still attend school!

Well, I think the main thing you need to do is get running. Firstly, you'll be able to work off some of those fat-boy pies (they do sound nice though!), and you'll build up your fitness, which is one of the main things that will carry you through a competition, especially if you have several rounds to do.

One of the quickest methods to get fit I found was to do the jog-sprint-jog (use lamp posts as your marker)for about 2 miles. It's knackering but effective. Find out how long your rounds are for and practise running for that length of time as well, as that will give you an indication of how long you have to last.

Keep sparring as well, up until about a week before the competition. Afterall, that is what we do!

Good Luck, let us know how you get on.

try running as lesley said, but once you've thoroughly knackered yourself out, try doing some shodow boxing or sparring.

if you can fight when your drained after a good run, you can fight in the 3rd round once your legs feel like big lead pipes and your hands feel like bowling balls

Beedham and Lesley are both spot on. This may seem extreme and such but I've recently gone veggie (around 2 months now) as preparation for my stay in a Buddhist temple later this year.

What's interesting is without doing any excercise but sparring and teaching and walking the dog, I dropped a stone. Which is extremely odd, however it seemed to work.

So jaggs, I reccommend not cutting out meat all together, but incorporating a salad or some mixed veggies into every meal. Breakfast means lots of fruit.

That will cleanse you out.

As is typical LSD advice, green tea and meditation will help you too. The tea will flush all the naughty foods and their respective toxins etc from your body.

Tea beeds, is to me, as jack daniels is to a tramp. Without it, life is meaningless.

As a side topic related to competitions, perhaps someone could help me. Is there any competition in the UK that would let me enter as a representative of LSD? In a MMA comp perhaps?

Might be a nice way to demonstrate the style's potency in a public setting.

why dont you go round a few dojos busting people up, that would get LSD in the spotlight for sure!

on a more realistic note, yes i think there would be some freestlye comps or such that you might be able to enter

Indeed it would. Though that's the complete antethisis of the system's intention. Btw I'm working on doing a seminar for you and Jaggs and some others int he near future. Say, 6 months?

haha yeah once you get the taste for the ale its all down hill from there! Mind u, u have a few years before you become an oldie like me and thats WHEN what you eat and drink counts!

Although ive always taken training very seriously and could probably count on one hand the amount of times ive been under the influence.
