I've had a few fat lips from sparring!!
Thats about it really. Pretty lame when compared to MMA.
I did get hit round the head with a baseball bat during a demonstration once. Made a nice clunk noise and gave me a bit of a lump on my head. Lucky i was already moving away from the bat and it wasn't a full swing but I carried on as if nothing had happened so again not too major... Got it on video though and the guy filming was up on a balcony looking down and the cam picked up the sound LOL!

When I entered the Saga Championships I kicked a guy full force square in the elbow. I got it cold sprayed and bandaged up and in a later match my opponent stamped on my obviously injured foot and sent me into an adrenaline fueled rage of punches, kicks (using the aforementioned leg) and insane kiais, destroying what was left of my opponent and progressing to the next round that I fought as hard as I could but I was too injured and too burned out to be able to beat the guy that obviously outclassed me anyway. I never got it x-rayed (I don't like Japanese hospitals) but it still isn't right today. I did however get in the best 8 (5th-8th place) in my entire prefecture across all grades and karate styles. That was a war wound and a half.
This is the most appropriate one for now so as the thread progresses I may share some of my other injuries that sound really tough.

A few months ago, I have the most enormous bruise that ran from above my knee and down the side of my calf. It was a beautiful shade of purple and everyone at work was very impressed.

Injuries and annoyances from martial arts classes include broken nose, broken wrist, broken thumb, few broken toes, pulled hamstring, pulled calf, pulled hip flexer, few bad hyperextensions, black eyes, badly bruised ribs, think I've had bumps and bruises just about everywhere including the groin, few cuts, lost a toe nail after toe got squashed grappling and then swelled up and countless other aches and pains over the years.
Also got a split head from friend hitting me with his dad's nunchaku as a kid.
Why do I do this again?
