The Guardian 1 Year ago
Started this thread again as there was a problem putting up the previous one.

From yesterday and for every day over the next week, The Guardian newspaper (available in the UK) is doing a booklet called The Official British Army Fitness Programme. I have the one from yesterday about Warm up and Flexibility and so far it looks pretty good.

If anyone else gets it, let me know what you think.

Re:The Guardian 11 Months, 2 Weeks ago
Hi
I've been following this with my partner for nearly two weeks now and it's pretty interesting. I have all the inserts (they do PDF versions on the Guardian website) and they have some interesting stuff in them too.
So far I've found it to be pretty good, apart from all the running (which I'm useless at because I have Asthma). It's fairly hard work at times, but it's rewarding as I can already see some improvements in myself.
Just as a side note to anybody doing this, my first set of Max press ups and max sit ups was 34 (not particularly brilliant I know) and 73 respectively. It would be interesting to hear what anybody else is scoring :)

34 press ups and 74 sit ups is something to be proud of if its your first time doing the program.

You could try a burn out at the end of the press up (Basically where you drop your knees) and try and push out some more in bursts... this will certainly help you to 'push out' more reps.
