I went.
Shame we didn't see the EuroDisney kids spar in costume (Cavemen versus Angelina Ballerinas).
And I wished they had introduced the teams so you knew which region was wearing what dobok uniform.
I thought the Welsh regional team (red and green) were excellent fighters - many winning points with the same side stepping punch. But 9 year old Lily from Central England North (very fetching white tunic blue trousers - particularly on Liam) was the star for me.
Some excellent show off breaking too.
I even shook hands with CK Choi (9th dan) before my fight. He had just awarded 8th degrees to the the TAGB committee, and he's been doing TaeKwonDo since 1956 and was sincerely friendly and interested as he walked around the arena floor. At first I actually thought he was Choi Jung-hwa
http://www.theregister.co.uk/2008/09/09/taekwondo_assassins/... which shows how bad I am at remembering Korean names like An Joong Gun, An Chang Ho... not a good sign for my upcoming grading.
Anyway, thanks to Lesley Jackson for ring-side coaching before she went off to do her own sparring. I carried on to win gold in executive men's blue and red belt lightweight for the second year running.
