I'm sorry, I know I'm supposed to be terribly excited and intrigued by the prospect of yet another Big Brother yawnathon on for the whole of the summer - but am I the only one who finds the whole programme tedious and irritating?

I had the launch show on for about 40 mins and had to switch off as I already wanted to poke the eyes out of at least 2 of the contestants.

I am sure I am an old stick in the mud who should be interested in the lives of vacuous self involved half wits but I am just not.

Problem is, I have to teach media studies to my GCSE group (some of whom would make very good contestants - I have my work cut out)and we have to do a scheme on Big Brother, I'm not sure I will last long before I lose the will to live.

Big Brother wannabees is the reason why people take up weapons training

They call it reality TV, but what is realistic about a group of inbreds who don't know each other being couped up in a house wired with hundreds of cameras for weeks on end?!?! Where is the reality?!
