hello, any other traceurs or freerunners on here? 11 Months, 4 Weeks ago
hi im knew to the board, and was wondering if i was the only traceur ( practitioner of parkour ) or freerunner on here? i also think that people who are generally interested in martial arts will also be interested in parkour, this website has information on parkour, and some brilliant training tips in general even if you are not interested in parkour www.parkour.net

Hey ed, wheres your Taekwondo club man? Im Pete Mills, I run the site with a few other guys. Im wanting to get into free running but I dont know where people train/practice.

We have an audio going up soon of Sebastian Foucan, we interviewed him on his opinion of how martial arts and Parkour are similar in terms of self expression.

Was reccomended to have a look at this site by Ed. I also train in parkour, and have found it helps my martial arts training hugely and vice versa. If you've been training martial arts you will have a good level of strength, so all I'd say to begin with is to get moving around at ground level, play around and get used to how you can move across obstacles.

Hell I just realised how weird that must sound.... I could be from another planet for all you guys know. Basically I train TAGB Taekwondo in Bradford but my adopted home is Leeds! Ive been training in the martial arts for a long time now.... Ive wanted to get into Parkour for a while, not because I want to jump off stuff but I think its the ultimate form of self expression. I see surroundings and think yeah, I could see how I would use that to move, but dont have the knowledge or know anyone who does it!

i live in leeds, near street lane and just off the ring road. i go to tae kwon do in lawnswood in leeds, Ian Pullen is the instructor. Again like hollie has said parkour and martial arts go hand in hand in my opinion, they compliment each other perfectly. we train in leeds every Saturday for parkour so if your interested in that come down and give it a go

Hello - interview with Sebastien Foucan can be found here:
http://www.martialedge.net/features/interviews/sebastien-foucan-on-free-running-and-martial-arts/

We're still waiting for the audio to go along with it though, but this should be online relatively sharpish.

Ben
