LOL.
Re carrying weapons etc.
There's the letter of the law and the spirit of the law.
I think, if I had a legitimate reason for doing so, I'd fall back on what I used to do, which is to make sure they are not easily accessible.
Having a sword on your hip, or slung on your back Ninja style shows some intent.
If it's at the bottom of a kit bag, wrapped in a towel, under other MA gear, then sure, you could say it was a concealed weapon, but it's not available to pull out and use immediately.
I think, if it ccame down to a court case, that would have some bearing.
'Lardy' would be better to ask on matters of legal interpretation, being a lawyer and all.

You're talking to someone who's been arrested three times for knives. Heh.
In my state there's this thing about only concealed knives (as well as switchblades and butterflies) being illegal. I always carry a 3 1/2" folding knife on me, and frequently a twelve inch survival knife when I go out at night. And just this morning I submitted my application for a Concealed Pistol License. Ironically, even with a Concealed Pistol License, I'd still be arrested for carrying a knife concealed.
I couldn't even comprehend carrying any knife to be illegal. That's just ridiculous.
Although I must say that recently, mostly due to the high number of news reports about shootings where I live, I'm beginning to think that knives give a false sense of security. I don't think one shouldn't carry one for this reason, but it's important to practice deploying it and quick.
A lot of situations that I felt might have got hot, my instinct was to just use hands. Like a gun, a knife takes longer to deploy than a fist, and can be disarmed or overpowered with some speed.

It has all information aboout the knifes and swords etc.
It clearly states that Martial Arts enthusiasts, collectors and people performing re-enactments will be exempt for the law providing you have legitament means of carrying them and they are in cases/bags...
I think Section 7 refers to swords in particular.

Wow Great link.. but one very important bit - it also says that you have to have 3rd party public liability insurance.. which shows you are an actual practitioner, not just someone who says 'oh yeah I do martial arts'

Most clubs when you join, insure you. My club membership includes a training liability insurance. I would like to think all clubs have this included in their memberships...

This is why i'm glad i live in the UK. Not cuz you're wandering around armed all the time mate but because you feel you have to kit up just to go out at night. That sucks big time.

Which is why all of my tactical folders are visible at the pocket by the belt clip, or I have it on the belt in a sheath.
