| About My School: | I teach a small study group in Kilmarnock, which due to a secondment I am involved with at work, is currently on hiatus. I am about to start teaching again, hopefully in the near future, so if anyone is interested, PM me your e-mail, and I'll send out some info. I am currenty going through the process of negotiating affiliation with Scottish Karate group, Karate Kai Scotland, which in turn is affiliated to Sport Scotland, and the World Karate Federation through its membership of the Scottish Karate Governing Body. Whilst I'm not a fan of the WKF, it's easier to make changes from within, rather than outwith, membership We will also have a Friendship Affiliation with the three Martial Arts Incorporated Dojo located in Dublin, Republic of Ireland which are owned and headed by close family friend, former WKA and WAKO World Kickboxing Champion, and current Pro-MMA Competitor, Robert Devane (5th Degree Black Belt). For further info on Martial Arts Inc. checkout www.martialartsinc.com . We will also have access to another close family friend for exams and seminars; former World WAKO Champion, former WKA World Champion, former WAKO Great Britain Coaching Staff member, and current ISKA UK Amateur Director, Clifton Findley (5th Dan), Chief Instructor for the highly sucessful Peterborough Freestyle squad. The training for Kids (-16 years) is Semi-Contact, and for Adults (+16 years) is Full-Contact. Kids have the opportunity to compete in Traditional Kata, Semi-Contact Points, and Light-Contact Continuous. Adults have the opportunity to compete in Traditional Kata, Light-Contact Continuous, Knockdown Karate, San-Shou, and Lei Tai. We are a 'Spit n Sawdust' group with no time for the 'pink and fluffy group hug' Dojo mentality. Train to Fight - Fight to Win. |
