My Qualifications: 4th Dan Karate
My Background: Started studying Shotokan in 1977. Changed to Shito-ryu in 1983. Have trained in Traditional Okinawan and Japanese Karate, with Freestyle Karate influences ever since.
Date Started Teaching: 10-10-89
About My School: I teach a small study group in Kilmarnock, which due to a secondment I am involved with at work, is currently on hiatus.

I am about to start teaching again, hopefully in the near future, so if anyone is interested, PM me your e-mail, and I'll send out some info.

We will be affiliated to the Cobra Martial Arts Association (CMAA), headed by former WKA England Team Manager, Andrew Morrell (7th Dan). The CMAA in turn is affiliated to the WKC, which incorporates both the World Karate and World Kickboxing Council. For further CMAA info checkout - www.cmaa.co.uk .

We will also have a Friendship Affiliation with the three Martial Arts Incorporated Dojo located in Dublin, Republic of Ireland which are owned and headed by close family friend, former WKA and WAKO World Champion, and current Pro-MMA Competitor, Robert Devane (5th Degree Black Belt). For further info on Martial Arts Inc. checkout www.martialartsinc.com .

We will also have access to another close family friend for exams and seminars; former World WAKO Champion, former WKA World Champion, former WAKO Great Britain Coaching Staff member, and current ISKA UK Amateur Director, Clifton Findley (5th Dan), Chief Instructor for the highly sucessful Peterborough Freestyle squad.

The training for Kids (-16 years) is Semi-Contact, and for Adults (+16 years) is Full-Contact.

Adults have the opportunity to compete in Traditional Kata, Light-Contact Continuous, Knockdown Karate, San-Shou, and Lei Tai.

We are a 'Spit n Sawdust' group with no time for the 'pink and fluffy group hug' Dojo mentality.
